Why the Guard And Reserve Assistance Fund Matters

Members of the National Guard and Reserve answer the call to serve while balancing civilian careers, family responsibilities, and military obligations. Whether responding to natural disasters at home or deploying overseas, these service members make sacrifices that often place unexpected financial and emotional burdens on their families.

When those challenges become overwhelming, the Guard and Reserve Assistance Fund (GARAF) is there to help.

GARAF is a volunteer-led 501(c)(19) organization dedicated to providing emergency financial assistance to Guard and Reserve members and their families throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Through no-interest loans, grants, and direct support, GARAF helps military families navigate unexpected hardships when they need assistance most.

GARAF is believed to be one of the first organizations in the nation dedicated exclusively to supporting Guard and Reserve service members and their families.

    • Housing assistance

    • Transportation Emergencies

    • Family hardship support

  • GARAF serves members of the Army National Guard, Air National Guard, and Reserve Components of all military branches throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area. The organization focuses exclusively on the unique needs of Guard and Reserve personnel and their families.

  • GARAF is funded through donations, sponsorships, and community events such as the annual Charity Golf Tournament. Every registration, sponsorship, and donation helps provide direct assistance to local military families facing unexpected hardships.
